Head of Product

Own CryptoSlate's roadmap from strategy through release — across reviews, comparison experiences, market data, and commercial product verticals.

Senior · 5+ years Remote · CET overlap Full-time, long-term freelance Reports to Founder CryptoSlate (an Upshift Media property)

About CryptoSlate

CryptoSlate is one of the most established names in crypto media and data — real-time crypto news, market data, and a growing portfolio of comparison and review products across exchanges, casinos, sportsbooks, sweepstakes and other commercial verticals. It sits at the intersection of editorial authority, data, SEO and product-led growth.

The opportunity now is to make the product layer faster, sharper and more commercially effective: better user journeys, cleaner comparison tools, better review experiences, tighter data flows, and features that help readers decide with confidence. Upshift Media owns and operates CryptoSlate, and this role is focused on CryptoSlate.com and its product roadmap.

The role

We're looking for a hands-on Head of Product to own CryptoSlate's roadmap from strategy through release. You'll turn business goals, competitor gaps, SEO opportunities, editorial needs and user behaviour into a clear product backlog — working with engineering, design, content, SEO and business development to decide what we build, why it matters, when it ships, and how we measure whether it worked.

This is not a management-only role. You'll set direction, but also write tickets, define acceptance criteria, review flows, check analytics, sit in QA, and push releases over the line. You'll join a small, senior team where everyone ships — little bureaucracy, but a high bar for clarity, pace and ownership.

Who you'd be joining

Upshift Media — which owns and operates CryptoSlate — is a lean, AI-first team of fewer than seven people (the two-pizza rule, on purpose). We run on four values: We Own Outcomes · We Run on AI · We Get Shit Done · We Grow Together. You'd report straight to the Founder and own a real product surface — not a backlog handed down through layers.

It's also a place to level up fast: you'll build with the most advanced AI and automation workflows in the industry every day, and leave world-class at AI-driven product — the kind of operator any company fights to hire.

The deal: fully remote — work whenever and wherever you do your best work (small HQ in Cyprus); a competitive base plus a high-margin performance bonus; co-working covered if you're outside Cyprus; and once a year we fly the whole team to Cyprus to celebrate. We hire culture-first — only apply if you genuinely share these values.

What you'll own

Product strategy & roadmap

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for CryptoSlate's web platform and commercial verticals — review pages, comparison experiences, ranking pages, market-data surfaces, affiliate funnels, CMS workflows and internal tooling.
  • Build and maintain a prioritised roadmap tied to business outcomes; translate commercial targets into product initiatives.
  • Benchmark competitors and decide where CryptoSlate should lead, match, simplify or ignore.
  • Identify product gaps across UX, content ops, data, tracking, conversion and page performance.
  • Keep the team on the highest-impact work, not the loudest request.

Delivery & execution

  • Own backlog grooming, sprint planning and release planning.
  • Write clear product briefs, user stories, tickets and acceptance criteria; break large goals into small, shippable releases.
  • Partner with engineering to clarify scope, remove blockers and protect delivery focus.
  • Review work before release; own QA standards including edge cases, content workflows, tracking and polish.
  • Maintain a single source of truth for what's being built, blocked and next.

Commercial & growth alignment

  • Work with the Founder and Business Development Manager on priorities tied to revenue, FTDs, qualified clicks, CPA, rev-share and partner performance.
  • Partner with SEO and content on templates, page structures, internal-linking and scalable publishing workflows.
  • Improve conversion across comparison tables, review pages, CTAs, product cards and vertical hubs.
  • Use analytics to find drop-offs and underperforming pages; reprioritise quickly when a bet isn't moving the numbers.

Measurement, ops & AI

  • Define success metrics before the team builds; ensure tracking is in place before launch; review performance after.
  • Keep Notion clean and useful as the team's operating system; build lightweight processes for roadmap, release notes, QA and specs.
  • Use AI and automation to reduce manual work across research, specs, QA checklists, reporting and workflow management.

What success looks like

  • 30 days: audited the product surface, mapped revenue and workflow bottlenecks, cleaned the backlog, and agreed first roadmap priorities with the Founder.
  • 60 days: a working delivery cadence, clearer specs, tighter QA, and the first measurable improvements shipped.
  • 90 days: a more predictable product function, a clearer commercial roadmap, and visible improvement in at least one major area (conversion, page experience, publishing workflow, tracking quality or vertical-product UX).

What we're looking for (deal-breakers)

  • 5+ years in product, including senior or lead ownership of a roadmap.
  • Direct experience in crypto, fintech, trading, iGaming, affiliate, performance marketing or another compliance-sensitive commercial category.
  • Clear understanding of crypto users, fintech products and financial-decision trust issues.
  • Proven ability turning business goals into strategy, specs, tickets, releases and measurable outcomes.
  • Delivery discipline across backlog, sprint planning, QA and release management.
  • Commercial fluency — revenue, conversion, FTDs, CPA, rev-share and how product decisions affect results.
  • Clear written communication; Notion fluency and a practical instinct for AI-assisted workflows.
  • Strong CET overlap.

Nice to have

  • iGaming, sportsbooks, casinos, exchanges, wallets, trading or financial comparison products.
  • Media, data or CMS-heavy platforms; SEO-led / content-led growth.
  • GA4, Search Console, Ahrefs, Looker Studio, Hotjar, PostHog, Amplitude, Mixpanel or similar.
  • Improving Core Web Vitals, page templates, internal search, comparison tables, product cards or affiliate funnels.
  • Building internal tools for content, research, QA or partner operations.

What this role is not

Not a corporate role with layers of analysts and delivery leads around you. Not a pure strategy role where you hand off ideas and step away. Not a feature factory where every request gets built. You'll think commercially, write clearly, prioritise hard, work directly with engineering, and stay close enough to the details to know whether what shipped is actually good.

Why join

  • A recognised brand with real authority in crypto.
  • A broad product surface: media, market data, comparison tools, reviews, funnels and internal systems.
  • A team small enough that product decisions turn into shipped work quickly.
  • Genuine ownership — you shape the roadmap rather than inherit a playbook.
  • Good product work shows up directly in UX, rankings, conversion and revenue.

How to apply

Send:

  • A short note on why this role fits your background.
  • Two or three product wins you personally owned, ideally with measurable outcomes.
  • A brief example of a roadmap, feature spec, release process or Notion system you created.
  • One thing you'd improve on CryptoSlate.com after a quick review of the site.
